About the Opportunity

Our Talent Partner is recruiting an Electronic Technologist for a highly automated bulk grain export terminal located on Ridley Island near Prince Rupert, British Columbia. The facility supports Western Canadian grain producers and operates in a fast-paced industrial environment where safety, reliability, and technical excellence are essential.

Position Summary

The Electronic Technologist is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing the electronic, automation, and control systems that keep the terminal operating safely and efficiently. The role involves working throughout the facility, responding to breakdowns, completing preventative maintenance, and supporting equipment reliability.

This is a full-time shift-based position. The maintenance team currently operates on a rotating 5-days-on, 2-days-off schedule, with employees rotating between:

• Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

• Afternoon Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM

Days off rotate according to the maintenance schedule.

Schedule subject to operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot industrial electronic and control systems.

• Diagnose and maintain PLC-controlled equipment, with Allen-Bradley experience preferred.

• Support industrial communication networks, industrial PCs, electronic scales, sensors, and instrumentation.

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance.

• Respond to equipment failures and complete root-cause troubleshooting.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

• Work collaboratively with Operations and Maintenance while also being able to work independently.

• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electronic Technology.

• Approximately 5 years of related industrial experience preferred; strong recent graduates may also be considered.

• Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills.

• Experience with PLCs, preferably Allen-Bradley.

• Experience with industrial communication networks, electronic scales, sensors, instrumentation, and industrial PCs.

• Ability to work shifts and move throughout a large industrial facility.

• Ability to work independently and contribute positively to an established team.

• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
