About the Opportunity
Craftensa Business Solutions Inc. is supporting a Toronto-based organization in the search for an experienced Tax Accountant to join its team.
This opportunity is suited to an accounting professional with hands-on Canadian tax experience who is comfortable managing tax preparation, compliance, reporting, and client or internal stakeholder requirements in a deadline-driven environment.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to independently manage multiple tax-related priorities.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and review Canadian corporate and personal income tax returns, including T1 and T2 filings, as applicable
• Prepare tax working papers, supporting schedules, and documentation
• Assist with corporate tax provisions and year-end tax reporting
• Support GST/HST and other applicable tax compliance requirements
• Research Canadian tax legislation and identify potential tax implications or planning opportunities
• Assist with tax planning, reorganizations, and other advisory assignments as required
• Respond to information requests, assessments, and inquiries from the Canada Revenue Agency
• Maintain accurate tax records and ensure compliance with applicable filing deadlines
• Work closely with clients, finance teams, external advisors, and other stakeholders
• Identify discrepancies, potential compliance issues, and opportunities to improve tax processes
• Support financial reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting activities where required
• Stay current on changes to Canadian tax legislation and accounting standards
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
• Previous professional experience in Canadian taxation and accounting
• Hands-on experience preparing Canadian tax returns
• Strong understanding of Canadian corporate and/or personal income tax
• Knowledge of CRA requirements and Canadian tax legislation
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and work independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
• CPA designation or active progress toward CPA designation
• Completion or progress toward the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program
• Experience within a public accounting firm, tax practice, or corporate tax department
• Experience with professional tax preparation and accounting software
• Exposure to tax planning, corporate reorganizations, audits, or CRA reviews
